49ers Legend Issues Warning to Quarterback Brock Purdy: ‘It’s Gonna Hurt’

The statistics don't lie; Brock Purdy, the quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers, has been putting up some impressive numbers.

However, if there's one piece of advice that legendary quarterback Steve Young would offer the young signal-caller,

it's this: increase those rushing attempts.

Purdy has rushed only 15 times this season for a total of 31 yards. In a Week 6 game against the Cleveland Brown

he ran the ball just three times for seven yards. Steve Young believes this isn't enough, especially in the context of today's NFL

According to Young, looking beyond individual games and focusing on the future is crucial. He sees the need for Purdy to become a more mobile and dynamic quarterback,

capable of making plays with his legs. In today's NFL, standing in the pocket and solely relying on your arm is no longer sufficient for success.

Brock Purdy's passing efficiency is indeed commendable, with a completion rate of 67.5%, 10 touchdowns,

and only one interception so far in the season. However, Purdy ranks 23rd among quarterbacks in rushing attempts and 26th in rushing yardage.

Young emphasizes that to play "championship football" in the modern NFL, quarterbacks must be willing to utilize their mobility and pick up crucial yards on the ground.
