Andre Onana's terrible start for Manchester United in comparison to Peter Schmeichel and David de Gea's problems by Erik ten Hag

Erik ten Hag has compared Andre Onana's poor start at Manchester United to Peter Schmeichel and David de Gea's early problems.

During the summer transfer window, the Red Devils made the significant choice to bring in a new No.1.

After 12 seasons in England, De Gea was allowed to leave as a free agent, breaking United's all-time clean sheet record.

Cameroon international Onana was selected as the man to fill a significant vacuum between the sticks

with £48 million ($58 million) invested in luring him away from Serie A heavyweights Inter.

The 27-year-old has had a shaky start to life at Manchester, surrendering 19 goals in 11 games

but famous predecessors such as De Gea and Danish great Schmeichel did not either.

Ten Hag is eager to emphasize this, telling reporters when asked to provide another appraisal of Onana's work thus far

"He knows, we know, he will do much better, and as with any player coming into the Premier League, you need an integration period, but he has to step up."

Big United keepers like Peter Schmeichel and David de Gea did not start doomed, and Andre understands the value of knowing a little bit about history.

Luke Grimes claims that Lainey Wilson assisted him in overcoming his fear of recording an album.
