Before facing the Vikings on MNF, McCaffrey of the 49ers is in good spirits.

SANTA CLARA — Christian McCaffrey, a running back, was very explicit in stating on Saturday that he "feels great."

After having a restricted practice and being rated as questionable for the 49ers' "Monday Night Football" game against the Minnesota Vikings, he repeated it several times.

McCaffrey missed workouts on Thursday and Friday after suffering an oblique injury in San Francisco's Week 6 game against the Cleveland Browns.

Before the 49ers were due to leave for Minneapolis, McCaffrey gave a brief press conference in which he used the word "great" six times.

Since being traded from the Carolina Panthers to the 49ers one year ago this week, McCaffrey has not missed a game. 

He needs to clearly distance himself from his past two seasons with the team.

McCaffrey responded when questioned about simply being available to play, "That's a significant issue.
