Colorado's Deion Sanders Explains Former 5-Star CB Cormani McClain's Lack of Snaps
Cormani McClain, a highly rated freshman cornerback, hasn't played much so far this season, which is something that stands out. Head coach Deion Sanders talked about this on Tuesday.
When reporters asked Sanders what McClain can do to get on the field, Sanders said, "Study and get ready."
Get to meetings on time and be there. Figure out the plan. I look at each player's film time to see who's getting ready. If I don't see that,
you'd be a fool to put someone on the field who isn't ready. All of our guys have to do that."According to 247Sports' composite ranks,
McClain was a 5-star prospect in the class of 2023 and was expected to be a big part of Colorado's defense in the coming years.
At one point, it looked like McClain would join the Miami Hurricanes, but he ended up going to Colorado to be in Sanders's first signing class for the Pac-12 team.
So far, that hasn't made much of a difference, as the freshman has only made two stops in the first four games for the Colorado Buffaloes.
Travis Hunter, a two-way star who was hurt against Colorado State and couldn't play because he had a cut on his stomach, was expected to get more playing time.
