Cowboys Land Chiefs' Disgruntled $80 Million Star in Trade Proposal

The Dallas Cowboys might be a perfect landing destination for one of the NFL's best defensive tackles.

The Cowboys "should pursue" Kansas City Chiefs defensive tackle Chris Johnson in a trade, according to Bleacher Report's Brad Gagnon.

Jones is currently on the bench owing to a contract disagreement and his desire for a new contract worth $30 million per year.

Jones is in the final year of a contract that will pay him $20 million this season. Jones, who placed third in Defensive Player of the Year voting last season,

would be a "huge upgrade" on the interior, according to Gagnon. According to Gagnon, a first-round pick should be enough to acquire Jones.

"Jones would almost certainly cost them a first-round pick, possibly in exchange for third-year starter Osa Odighizuwa." But he'd be a significant upgrade in that position," argues Gagnon.

"And if Dallas truly believes it can make a Super Bowl run with him on board (keep in mind that pick would come at the bottom of Round 1 under those circumstances),
