The NFL's Dallas Cowboys have acquired another veteran star running back to strengthen their already productive
offense thanks to an attractive trade proposal. The Cowboys have the league's eighth-best scoring offense, averaging 26.8 points
per game entering Week 6. Tony Pollard, Dallas' starting running back, has 340 rushing yards, two touchdowns, and 96 receiving yards through five games.
However, the Cowboys' system worked better last year when they had two strong running backs in Pollard and Ezekiel Elliott,
who was dismissed this offseason to save money. So don't be surprised if Dallas tries to add another playmaking running back before the Oct. 31 trade deadline.
Prior to the deadline, ESPN's Bill Barnwell pulled together many trade proposals. In one of his trade proposals,
the Cowboys would acquire Arizona Cardinals running back James Conner in return for a conditional 2025 sixth-round draft pick
that may be upgraded to a fifth or fourth-rounder:"They'd owe a sixth-round pick if Conner scores one touchdown, a fifth-round pick if he scores four times,
and a fourth-round pick if he scores six touchdowns and/or runs for 500 yards the rest of the way..."
Conner is not a superstar, but he has scored 16 touchdowns on 29 touches inside the 5-yard line for the Cardinals while playing behind
