Francis Coppola Sets Final Casting For Epic ‘Megalopolis’; Film Shooting This Fall In Georgia

In Georgia this fall, Francis Ford Coppola will shoot Megalopolis, an enormous drama.

Adding SNL's Chloe Fineman, Licorice Pizza's Isabelle Kusman, D.B. Sweeney, Bailey Ives, and Oscar winner Dustin Hoffman.

The three leads are Adam Driver, Forest Whitaker, and Game of Thrones' Nathalie Emmanuel. Coppola's Apocalypse stars Jon Voight.

Discover Laurence Fishburne, Talia Shire, Shia LaBeouf, Jason Schwartzman, Grace Vanderwaal, Kathryn Hunter, Aubrey Plaza, Madeleine Gardella, and James Remar. Over 20 years, Coppola has contemplated Megalopolis.

Almost everything is self-financed. He invested much of the roughly $100 million as a maverick who has always bet on his vision, mostly successfully.

In this epic narrative of political ambition, intellect, and dangerous love, Rome haunts a modern world unable to overcome its societal issues.

In a Deadline interview earlier this year about his Oscar memories, I asked Coppola whether he's staking himself again to avoid regret on his deathbed. He added that was only part.

If you can make a film that people will like for 10, 20, or more years, you will profit. Viewing my films. Everyone is being examined 50 years later.
