Ja Morant defends his father after he is accused of enabling bad decisions.
Memphis Grizzlies standout Ja Morant is supporting his father.
After a Grizzlies employee referred to Ja's father, Tee Morant, as the "driving force" behind his recent wrongdoing, the NBA player turned to social media to defend and support him
Ja credited his father for "this hoopin shii," posting an Instagram Story photo of his father watching him from courtside.
The Memphis Grizzlies player, who is now serving a 25-game suspension, expressed a similar attitude on X, formerly known as Twitter.
With comments only allowed from accounts Ja follows, there's no way to know what fans think of the information revealed in an ESPN report published earlier this week.
The piece recounts Ja's actions over the last 18 months and includes comments from an anonymous Grizzlies insider who blamed Tee for Ja's poor decisions.
"Tee has been a major driving force in all of this," according to a team source. "He never made the NBA, but this was his opportunity to live the life of an NBA superstar."
That has been an issue since the beginning."
