Over the years, numerous unique Kombatants from third-party properties have been brought in to help "bolster the ranks" and set up some intriguing matches in Mortal Kombat.
In an interview with Rolling Stone, co-creator Ed Boon discussed his attempt to include the renowned Keanu Reeves persona into the title:
"I could easily picture the John Wicks of the world... In fact, we wanted to get John Wick in Mortal Kombat, but we didn't get it."
While it is unknown why the game was unable to obtain the character, it is easy to understand why Ed Boon and others would want to see John Wick in the game.
