NFL world enraged by Raiders quarterback announcement
The Las Vegas Raiders are set to face the Chicago Bears in Week 7 without their starting quarterback, Jimmy Garoppolo.
The team officially announced their choice for Garoppolo's replacement on Friday.
In the decision-making process, the Raiders considered two candidates: veteran quarterback Brian Hoyer and rookie quarterback Aidan O'Connell.
Both have seen action this season, stepping in for Garoppolo on occasion. The choice ultimately hinged on their respective performances thus far in the year.
Among the Raiders' fan base, a prevailing sentiment has emerged in favor of Aidan O'Connell. The rookie quarterback possesses a considerable upside,
especially when contrasted with the 38-year-old Hoyer. O'Connell also exhibited promise during his inaugural career start in Week 4.
Consequently, a significant portion of the Raiders' faithful had been vocal in their support of O'Connell receiving another opportunity to lead the team.
However, head coach Josh McDaniels had a different plan, designating Brian Hoyer as the starting quarterback for the upcoming matchup against the Chicago Bears.
