There have been a few collegiate athletes who have fared better than others in the era of Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL).
The current queen of NIL is LSU gymnast Olivia Dunne, as stated on the record in front of Congress by a major NIL collective director.
The 10th Congressional hearing on NIL began this morning, with Ole Miss collective director Walker Jones testifying.
Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) asked Jones who the highest-paid current athlete is through NIL, and he named Dunne, a senior at LSU.
It should be noted that Dunne is estimated to have the third-highest NIL worth by On3 Sports' NIL valuation calculator,
trailing only USC basketball guard Bronny James and Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders.
However, that is merely a calculated assumption, so we will believe Jones here.
Dunne and fellow LSU women's basketball player Angel Reese were featured on the cover of Sports Illustrated earlier this fall.
"People definitely discredit what I do," Dunne remarked of her popularity and lack of financial resources. "
