The Best Fall Beers and Cocktails in and Around Philadelphia
Just in time for fall, the City of Brotherly Love is producing some great cocktails and beers.
If you're searching for a weekend getaway or just a day meandering around the city, these bars and eateries should definitely be on your list.
"Philadelphia is a great city to bar hop in the fall because there are so many options," says Shawn Miller, beverage director at Forsythia, an Old City contemporary French cafe.
"Whether you're looking for a dive bar, take your drinking with a side of sports or are serious about food, wine and cocktails there's something for everyone."
Order the Harvest Old Fashioned, Miller's spin on a classic with just enough fall vibes.
"Unfortunately, so many pumpkin-flavored products are overly sweet, with only a hint of spice and no real pumpkin.
"I wanted to make a drink with deep baking spice notes and a rich pumpkin flavor," he explains.
Miller starts by roasting pumpkins in molasses, honey, ginger, and nutmeg before soaking them in bourbon for two weeks and pressing them through cheese cloth.
