‘Yellowstone’ Ratings: Season 1 Premiere on CBS Nabs 6.6 Million

Yellowstone debuted on CBS over the weekend, and despite the fact that it was simply a rerun, millions tuned in.

On broadcast television, the two-hour Season 1 debut drew 6.6 million viewers. The first hour had 7.87 million viewers, while the second hour had little under 6 million.

This leads all non-sports and non-news programming for Sunday night (Sept. 17), despite the fact that competition in those categories was light.

Sunday Night Football on NBC had 14.4 million viewers (per TV Line), while 60 Minutes had 11.4 million. It's difficult to find an apples-to-apples comparison for perspective,

but according to the Hollywood Reporter, the Equalizer garnered 6.8 million viewers in the same position in 2022.

Yellowstone's success (or lack thereof) is unlikely to have an impact on the show's future, as the second half of Season 5

the last season — is set to air on Paramount Network before streaming on Peacock.

Lawmen: Bass Reeves, 6666, and 1923 Season 2 are all set to premiere on Paramount Network or Paramount Plus, the streaming service.
